Questions Answers Describe the duties and responsibilities of my own work role I make sure policies, procedures, and guidelines of my organization are always followed such as the infection control policy, diversity and inclusion, confidentiality, health and safety, and many more.

Personal care, continuum support, feeding, and medication for those I care for are always done in a person-specific method while making sure they are all in tandem with their care plans and client preferences. Their independence is always encouraged, except in cases of frail and nursing patients.

Adequate record keeping is important as I make sure all patient records maintain confidentiality and integrity. These records are also reviewed to detect early warning signs

It is expected that when providing care, the dignity of service users is maintained as doors need to be knocked on before they are opened, windows or blinds to be closed before any continuing care with sensitive body parts closed and covered well.

Safety is expected to be my watchword as call care given must be safe and under the Health and Safety Act. Preferences and guidelines available in care plans are to be followed to achieve positive outcomes with no or minimal risk to the service user.

Concise and integrity in documentation with all information about the client respected with the confidentiality it deserves. I am bound to repost all incidents, errors, or mistakes under the duty of Candor and I embark on continuous development to enhance my skills.

This has a ripple effect on the positive satisfaction of the service users as well as other health stakeholders. Identify sources of support for planning and reviewing own development I improve my professional development in my work by having support sessions with mentors and supervisors for feedback and appraisals. Feedback and appraisal sessions provide a robust learning benchmark for planning the next stage of learning and reviewing past development. Numerical scores are given to key performance indices with the average weight denoting performance and where improvement and development need to focus.

Annual refresher courses with approved trainers as endorsed by my organization are another avenue to plan and review development. I also have support from my peers and colleagues when learning on the job. Subscriptions to professional associations, attend self-paced training courses, upgrade and acquire new qualifications to set goals for career
