Primary care is your first main basic care that you may need such as : Dentist, Opticians, Doctor (GP)
An example of a Dental practise In the Isle Of Man is located in Douglas, they provide service users with NHS and private dentistry. However they're only able to provide necessary treatment on NHS such as basic fillings, root canal treatment, some crown and prosthetic work. There is also an option for private care meaning it will be individual payment. However, you're able to get better service as appointments are made longer making you feel comfortable and relaxed. As a patient you will have a great benefit as you will be provided the newest equipment and materials available to you.

Tertiary care is known as further care and it can also be a referral from primary or secondary care. Its also more specialised as a service user may find themselves staying there for months or even years. Tertiary care can be Hospices, Nursing Homes, and Residential Care Homes.

Victoria House Nursery is located in Douglas and helps children learn new skills, Socialise and build confident while parents have leisure time or work. They are known to have won an International Bronze Eco award for being highly hygienic making the Nursery very popular around the Island.

Informal care is also known as voluntary care meaning the carers are not being paid, Carers can provide help to people who have chronic illnesses or those who are disabled.

This could come out to be a positive factor for citizens, but with regard to the NHS, service users may be delayed for approximately two years for wisdom teeth removal. Locally, the Westview Dental Practice provides services in both Peel and Douglas. They supply both statutory and private care, however service users who are not full time students are required to pay for the NHS services. The price changes depending what kind of service an individual needs and are organised in 3 bands.
Band 1 being £18.50 grants you with an examination and diagnosis with information of how to prevent gum disease and cavity pain from your dentist keeping your teeth clean.
Band 2 includes all the treatment in Band 1 with additional medication and prescriptions such as fillings and root canal work costing £50.50.
Band 3 consists of treatment from both band 1 and 2 with crowns and dentures, this treatment will cost a service user
