Explain Why A Cell Is Like An Airport

Cells are a system that creates a product or proteins. To help gain a better understanding of the system of a cell and how it works, I will use the analogy “A cell is like an Airport.” The plant cell is the only cell that contains a cell wall. The cell wall’s job is similar to a security gate. The cell wall provides an extra layer of support and protection for the cell, just like a security gate would protect the airport. Next, the cell membranes job is the same as the airports front doors. The front doors allow anyone to enter or leave the building. The cell membrane does the same thing by allowing certain substances to enter or leave the cell. A cell contains one nucleus. The nucleus contains DNA and controls the cell. The nucleus would be the
Next, we have the Endoplasmic Reticulum which is like the airports boarding line. The boarding line moves items that are going to be boarded onto the plane. The Endoplasmic Reticulum does the same thing by moving items to different parts of the cell and serving as a pathway. Now we have the Golgi Apparatus which is kinda like the terminal. The Golgi Apparatus sends out finished products to the cell membrane, while the terminal is where passengers depart or arrive for their flight. Next comes the ribosomes, and their job is to assemble and build proteins. Their job is a lot similar to the maintenance crew that help repair the planes. After that, we have the vacuole which resembles the job of the hold baggage because they both are made for storing things. The only difference is that the vacuole is made to store wastes, enzymes, and water, while the hold baggage is made to store your luggage. Then after the vacuole, we have the lysosomes. The lysosomes resemble the janitors because lysosomes breakdown and absorb materials taken in by the cell, and the janitors breakdown messes and clean them
