In early Jamestown many people died it was hard there with the droughts that lasted so long and the attacks on the settlers it was pretty harsh back then.A lot of people got killed but not many lived.Those who lived were very fourturnet . Why did so many colonist die in early Jamestown.
One reason why the colonist died is the environment,the water was one of the big reasons why the died .another big reason was the bad conditions such as a long period of drought . Water lead to many death in early Jamestown . The brackish water was a big reason because the water wasn't clean so people got sick from it. So many became ill after they had the unsafe and in clean water. The bad conditions in early Jamestown such as the harsh winters and the long droughts killed them . Those who didn't help caused many deaths and with no druggist to give them medicine was a bad idea because when they got sick from the sicknesses Medicean could have helped a lot. Not enough help is what killed them with the people who didn't help enough with surgeons was bad but importantly those who didn't make barrels for them to put their food in could have helped save lives 100 men got killed in the starving time (fauz P.21). One terrible thing is that they had no pharmacists who would help with Medicine. If someone was dying of a sickness or a wound of any kind they would die because they're was 0 of them(smith p. 17).
