Bang! Why did the Civil War start? The main reason of the Civil War was John Brown,Bleeding Kansas and Abraham Lincoln they all have a lot to do with the Civil War and how it started. It was about freeing slaves and making all states free states for slaves. It was a Civil War because the South was fighting The North because they wanted too free states and other people wanted to keep slaves because they didn't have to pay them.
John Brown was a crazy man basically he had a whole different idea of how to free the slaves. He was a man of action he had a way of dealing with things. He wanted too free slavery and end it. He was born in Torrington,Connecticut in 1800. His family was against slavery and his father never
did anything and that made John want to end slavery. "He did not recognize unjust human laws, but resisted them as he was bid," said Henry David Thoreau (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part4/4p1550.html).
The Bleeding Kansas was a horrible idea because a bunch of people rose up against slavery and started murdering people. The Compromise of 1850 brought relative calm to the nation (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part4/4p2952.html). Though most blacks and abolitionists strongly opposed the Compromise. Many people wanted to keep the slaves and many people wanted to free the slaves. The violence had now escalated, and the confrontations continued (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part4/4p2952.html).
Abraham Lincoln was a 16th president of the United States. He was born near near Hodgenville,Kennicut on february 12, 1809. He had very little education but he read a lot basically all the time. In 1828, at the age of nineteen, he accompanied a produce-laden flatboat down the Mississippi River to New Orleans, Louisiana—his first visit to a large city--and then walked back home (http://www.civilwar.org/education/history/biographies/abraham-lincoln.html?referer=https://www.google.com/). His father was not rich he always had too move too avoid financial trouble. Abraham Lincoln met Mary Todd in Springfield, Illinois where he was practicing as a lawyer (http://www.civilwar.org/education/history/biographies/abraham-lincoln.html?referer=https://www.google.com/). On April 14, 1865, while attending a play at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., Abraham Lincoln was shot by Confederate sympathizer, John Wilkes Booth (http://www.civilwar.org/education/history/biographies/abraham-lincoln.html?referer=https://www.google.com/).
They all have a role in creating the Civil War. Most people only know who Abraham Lincoln is and that's all they know abou the Civil War. People back in the 1800s wanted slaves to be around and because other people had a different opinion about it and tried to fix it in a bad way it unleashed a Civil War. If John Brown never was born I bet there would still be slavery. If the Bleeding Kansas never happened then there would be slaves still. If Abraham Lincoln never was born United States would be very different. If there was not a Civil War in United States most likely there would be slavery all over the place and maybe someone different would end slavery but we will never know.
