Why did the civil war begin?

The civil war was from April 12, 1861 to May 13, 1865 with in the United States, the war was fought between the southern states verses the northern states. The north wanted to stay united but the south broke away to form their own country called Confederacy.

Some causes of the civil war or the north and south to divide are industry vs. farming, slavery, Abraham Lincoln and secession

Industry vs. farming, many people in the north lived in the large cites working with the industry. People in the north south continued life doing large farming economy which relied on slaves’ labor, many people of the north believed slavery was wrong and evil. They was called abolitionist.
