Explain Why I Want To Live In The Giver
I would not want to live in the society from the Giver because of three reasons. One being your job, your voice and memories

I would not want to live the the giver society because you don't decide your job
First, what they do is they have people volunteer at a bunch of places and that how they pick your job.
What they do is they give People a random job that they think will work best for you.
Second, they chose it off which place people visit the most and how good People are so if people wanna be a street cleaner but spend more time helping the old, than people will probably get the job when people help the old.
So the more you visit a place will increase the chance you have for getting that job.
Third, once they chose your job, people can

So you basically end up getting some person you barely know.
After they pick your spouse, you have to wait at least three years before you can apply to receive a baby and it's not one you made but one someone else did.
And they just give you some random kid that you don't even know and that's not really yours.
And lastly after you become married and recieve a kid you can have one more and that's it. You can't have more than one male and female and after that is when you and your spouse go and live with the other childless adults.
So after you have a kid, you then go to live with other lonely Adults that have no children.
And lastly nobody has very many memories or remember older things or has a choice
Once you're born till the day you are released, those are the only memories that you have.Unless you are the receiver or giver of memories, than you don't have any knowledge of the past.
And so that way, nobody in the community has to deal with pain and anguish.
Second, nobody remembers what the older things are. No one knows what snow is or a slay is because the society thinks it will lead to bad choices if you have a voice or a choice in the

“No one in the community was starving, had ever been starving, would ever be starving.” (Lowry 89). The Community in The Giver is called a utopian society, what is a utopian society? Webster Dictionary says, “an imaginary place in which the government, laws, and social condition are perfect...” Even though they may be “perfect”, utopian societies never really work out, and usually people have to take risks in order to change the society. In the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry, Jonas takes risks by, helping family members, doing what he thinks is right, and helping friends see the truth.…

Despite the North having more production and population, the South could have won the Civil War with a few adjustments. Notice how the South’s largest production is cotton, compared to the North. The North had a balance of different types of production, which enabled the soldiers to be easily equipped with materials and accumulate wealth. One of the major reasons why the South lost was that it spent more on cotton production instead of increasing the other types of production. If it spent more on the different types, it could have won. The South depended heavily on agricultural type of labor, through the use of slaves. The slave owners did not free the slaves, since they were needed to cultivate the cotton to raise profit for the owners. Moreover,…

When one or more persons contract with a woman to gestate a child than relinquish that child after birth to the person or couple is known as surrogacy. It is a course of action that goes outside of natural reproduction. For some, it is the only method of having children, extending family. Surrogacy has been stirring up many controversies over the years. Ethics, morals, laws, religious views, etc. have played a major role in the issues that follow the topic of surrogacy. Laws and regulations pertaining to surrogacy vary from state to state. Some states have no enforceable laws towards surrogacy, while others only permit surrogacy contracts that are uncompensated arrangements and gestational agreements (Trimarchi, 2011). There is no color or or music, and almost every decision is made for the people by the Chief Elder. The government got rid of things like weather, color, disease, music, real emotions, and hills were eliminated to create sameness, preventing war and apartness.…

The government must focus more on revising this in order to increase the number of adopted children. Typically, prospective parents unable to have biological children are the main people who turn to adoption. Studies found, however, that only 10-25% of all infertile couples actually pursue adoption (Newman). This means that the greater majority choose between seeking expensive infertility treatments and remaining childless. All facts point to the adoption process itself being the reason behind these low numbers. As the years passed and more protocols were installed, adoption agencies became more and more selective on who can adopt. It did this in order to ensure that children would get placed in a suitable home with caring and loving parents, especially since many of these kids already experienced severe abuse from their biological parents. All of these restrictions, however, also cause many to give up partway through the process because they feel both mentally and financially drained and typically still have many years to go before they can bring home their new child. Don Simkovich, the director of church relations at The Child Share Program, Inc., referred to the procedure as “a roller coaster of emotions, paperwork, and love that takes an adventurous spirit to navigate” (qtd. in Newman). Unfortunately,…

Imagine a world without color, pain, or feelings. It sounds terrible. The Giver is a book about a community that people in the community do not have to be worry about anything. In other words, they never experience the joy of life and success. Jonas’ community is a strict community to avoid negative emotions. However (TRANS), there are many things that citizens are not allowed to do by themselves. The purpose of this paragraph is to contrast the Jonas’ community to our community. First of all, in Jonas’ community everyone lives by the community’s rules. It means their food, their family, their decisions are chosen for them because they are under the community’s control. However, in our community people can make their own decisions and choose their favorite food to eat. Second, in Jonas’s community the Elders control the population. It means that kids are not raised in a house. They are raised in a center for a year and will be given to family, but (TRANS) the Elders are the ones to decide who can be assigned to care for children. However, in our community people have their own children and it does not matter how many children they want to have (INF). Another difference is that when they turn twelve, the children are given a job assignment and start training (GER) for their job, and after that, they work more till they become a responsible adult. By way of contrast, in our community people can start working (GER) whenever they want, and they might want to work (INF) less when they get older (COMP). In conclusion, we would realize that our decisions, emotions, and differences might make our life harder (COMP), so it would be great to be happy with the present life. Never make your life as same as (COMP) Jonas’ community because you are never going to feel the life. A world without color, pain, or feelings should be a destination you would never…
