Most students today leave school wanting to attend University. Leaving school at the 17 still on their learners and no way to get there on their own. They will need someone who has had there New Zealand full drivers license for at least 2 years in the car with them. Also if the driving age is raised to 17 new drivers will be less experience as they have not had as much time practicing to drive and could cause more harm than good. In New Zealand, there is an estimate of 12,786 dairy farms in New Zealand I don't know about you but that's a heck of a lot. A lot of young Kiwis live on farms in a rural community and love playing sport and being social but having to rely on your parents to take you sports and other events can be a hassle for them. Sometimes this can hold you back not knowing if your parents can pick you up for a weekday training so you only play one sport. If the driving age gets raised this will just cause more Kiwis to not be involved with as much sports and other events causing young New Zealanders to be less sporty. So I say if you want Aussie to start beating us at every sport raise the driving
