First of all, various upperclassmen wish to join extracurricular activities but fail to do so. They are incapable of participating due to the unavailability of transportation. People say that there is a problem with obesity and that students should participate in sports or other physical activities, but many students are unable to do so until they get their license and are able to transport their selves to and from practices. When teens get a job it is frequently due to wanting to become more independent. This independency will take halt if they necessitate a ride from another. It will be less complicated to get to and from a job if you have your license, besides your parents and friends have busy schedules as well and will not be capable to provide a ride at times. This independency will help them be prepared for there future.
Last but not least, myriad college freshman are younger or have just turned 18. College students need to be able to get from place to place independently. They should not have to rely on their family or friends to provide them with a ride every time they find one necessary. When people start driving at the age of 16 they have approximately two years of experience before they move out and head to college. Young drivers should not have to go into a busy town or city and drive, but it will be acquired of them if the minimum driving age is raised to
18.
In conclusion, the minimum driving age should not be raised from 16 to 18. Various teenagers are unable to participate in extracurricular activities due to no available way to get to and from the activities, teens are able to get jobs and need a way of transportation without depending greatly on their parents, and numerous high school graduates are younger than 18 or just recently turned 18. Getting a license is an important milestone in everyone’s life. Driving teaches people to be responsible. The state legislature wants to raise the age due to safety concerns, yet changing the age will just change the approximate age rates of accidents from 16-25 to 18-27. Drivers are more prone to accidents within the first year of having their license; therefore changing the minimum driving age will not change the number of accidents occurring.
