First of all, it hard for us teen to be going out to places on their own, especially if you are playing in a sport that requires staying after school for practices. I remember, when I used to go to public school, I was in a soccer team. And everyday I would need a ride from school to home, usually I would walk and that take almost 2 hour. The real problem is people who does not know the rules for driving on the road ! I know young people age 17 that can drive better than a 50 year old adult, because study show that younger people have better eyesight than older people. Driving is deadly for all age groups and the age for driving shouldn't even be raise by one year, instead we should maybe let the adults know that everyone who is on the road is responsible. So age does not matter but having responsibilities and knowing what to do when you're on the road is.
Lastly, teenagers actually dislike the idea that they have to depend for their parents for everything. We don't like asking our parent to chauffeur us everywhere, especially up to the point we graduated from high school. Once we graduated from high school, would the parents still want us to move up to the real world without a license ?!
