Explain Why You Should Be Aware And Understand The Indicators Of Safeguarding
You should be aware and understand the safeguarding arrangements in place in your setting and also need to be aware of the indicators of child abuses. Every child care setting has a policy for dealing with the suspected abuse. If you have any concern then you should not come to any conclusion straight away after that, go first to your manager or designated person and discuss with them. If a child reports in a conversation that they are being abused or neglect, you should listen to them carefully, take their allegations seriously and reassure them that you will do your best to keep them safe. It is important to maintain confidentiality. You should not promise to the child that you will not tell this to anybody because you may have to do in order to save the child. If in a case when a child told you everything then you may approach directly to children’s social care and/or the police in an immediate action required situations to discuss your concerns. (3)Ask for help- If you have any doubt any concern go straight away to designate lead or safeguarding lead, they will help you to follow the correct procedure. In case if you feel that your concern is not being acted upon by your manager or safeguard lead then it is your responsibility to take
