Data buses, carry information from the motherboard to the computer. RAM random access memory, CPU computer processing unit, memory card holds files, video and audio cards for game play and simply seeing what’s on the computer. All are common components on a motherboard.
Motherboards can only be upgraded so much, once it as reached it input level it can no longer be upgraded without removing a component. The best way to upgrade after that is to add more hardware. Such as an external hard drive or external memory drive.
There are several different buses on a motherboard. Each one has a unique function. Each of the buses are used to control and alter many applications and functionality of the computer. These buses control so much information in the computer that not a single bus can take the place of two or more. There is simply too much information that would cause the bus to overload and could short out.
With so many buses being used not all devices need as many resources as others would use. So there are 64 bit and 32 bit which are usually the most common. The biggest reason for these are usually price and amount of processor speed needed.
