To complete this task, we made a explosion box. The explosion box is the box that opens into a flat surface when you open the lid. We decided to make this because we thought it would be a creative and unique way of visual representation. When you open the box, there is one more smaller box inside, which allows the box to have eight sides in total. Each sides of the box has description of each of the steps in the eightfold path. The Eightfold Path includes Right View, Right Intention, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Concentration, Right Mindfulness and Right Speech. Siddhartha had right intention when he left his home at the beginning to find the answer to his question. He took a right action when he left Kamaswami and Kamala to escape from worldly life. He gained right livelihood after that, when he started living with the ferryman, Vasudeva, and started learning from both him and the river. His right effort could be seen throughout the whole book, where he keeps on challenging, experiencing, and learning. Having the right mindfulness is a big goal of Siddhartha in this book, and he also performs right concentration when he sits by the river after Kamala’s death.
