Facts About Bogota
Bogota

Bogota is a vibrant city that is situated below the cold Andean Mountains and offers a mixture of modern shopping malls and historic colonial buildings. The City's main centre is the La Candelaria where there are restaurants, bars and hotels in amongst the ancient homes, churches and convents. The South of the City is where the working class stay and is still well known for the drug industry but North of the city is filled with hotels and entertainment in the districts of Zona Rosa and Zona G.

The currency is Pesos and it advisable to exchange your foreign currency at exchange houses, Airport, Hotels and Banks, Most of the international currencies are accepted.

The intriguing salt cathedral and plenty of parks to visit and have fun in. Not only can the family enjoy bicycle rides but can also enjoy a 5 hour horseback riding adventure which leaves from Bagota.

Restaurants and Night Life

There are tours that will show you the night life of Bagota such as the Bagota Nightclub Crawl and a private Bogota Nightlife tour. If you feel like doing it on your own there are plenty of bars and clubs to explore. The same is for the restaurants who serve food from all parts of the world but if you would like the locals to show you the best restaurants there are tours that show around the food joints in Bogota.

Transport

The main means of public transport is the TransMilenio which is a bus system that runs right through all the areas in Bogota. It is quite efficient and there are different day rider cards that can be bought. There are other modes of transport that can be used and in the north of the city the Motorcycle taxis are popular. There are the Tuks-Tuks and normal car taxis to get around in. If you see the sign Colectivo it generally means a mid size bus or shared
