Failing Forward
1. Describe Maxwell’s concept of Failing Forward. What is the difference between “failing backwards” and “failing forward”? Give an example in your own life where you demonstrated both concepts.
John Maxwell describes failing forward as being willing to get back up after facing obstacles. It is the ability to learn from one’s mistakes and to progress forward in the correct direction. In simpler words, failing forward is learning to view failure as a friend rather than an enemy.
Failing forward is about taking responsibility, learning from each mistake, and recognizing failure as a part of progress. Additionally, it entails maintaining a positive attitude, taking new risks and persevering. It establishes that there is a huge difference between being a failure and failing at doing something. I also would’ve applied the concept of failing forward If I got injured. I would probably get injured because mostly I don’t stretch before I run. So, I would learn from my mistake. After completing the half-marathon, I was planing to give myself little rewards that will remind me of the achievement which will always remind me that I didn't give up and I succeeded what I was planing to do at the beginning. Additionally, as a student, I plan on never underestimating how much I will need the people in my life. I plan on including my classmates, parents, and friends by making it easy for them to support me. As a student, being a team player is important for success as the no one can be successful by themselves especially in the
