If we just gave people who couldn't handle the problems at hand. Nothing would function smoothly. Being in the military we are given a specific job and are expected to meet the expectations of work that comes with that occupation.

To strive to get something done early every time, to never be on time or late. These are examples of what good responsibility would look like. To never go for just for the minimum to always go for above and beyond. This not only looks good on you, but your work place as well. This not only shows leadership and initiative, you portray someone who can be trusted. The ability for someone to be able to rely on you to get the assigned work to be done represents trustworthiness, which in turn will land you more responsibilities to take advantage of.

Now on the other hand there is a lack of responsibility which strongly shows immaturity and can mean your not trust worthy. Trust, military expertise, honorable service, esprit de corps, and stewardship are the five characteristics of the Army Profession.1 Each characteristic contains its own level of significance in the Army. It’s arguable that no characteristic can be more prestigious than the other. However, my experience in the Army has taught me that all these characteristics can be tied to trust. Trust is the blood that allows the Army to thrive, supplying life both to its surrounding people and to its internal organization. Trust brings unity, raising morale between leaders and their subordinates. Not only do we rely on each other’s knowledge and expertise for guidance, but the American people also rely on us to serve and protect our nation’s land. They rely on our guardianship, our honorable service, and entrust that our timeless morals, traditions, and values will remain intact throughout the change of leadership.…

A good leader has great vision. He knows where he wants to go and he knows how to motivate people to believe in the same vision he has for his group and life. He views things as what they could be and not what they are. A good leader is a very passionate person. He is intensely obsessed in whatever he is focused on. He also has compassion for his fellows. I have realized that there is not just one key concept that works for me. In fact I am sure that is a combination of all of them that will make me a better candidate for the business world. The two that I will use the most will have to be Unit 2, Manage your Time and Stress, and Unit 7, Goals and Planning. By learning how to manage my time and stress better will allow me to become a better part of the business community. In this manner by reducing my stress will allow me to better focus on the important aspects that need my attention. Learning how to manage my time came from the help of my family by allowing me to have time to myself to focus on my studies every day. Another great help has been the proper use my daily planner. It has been a great contribution to my success in this class. I will be using my planner for all my classes and I am also using it for work. This is a great course for me because it is the first class I have taken since graduating high school 15 years ago. The things that I learned in Unit 6, Academic Writing, will be great use for my next class which is Writing Composition. I will be taking what I have learned from this course and apply it to my next, and so on and so on. From Unit 7 came setting forth my short term and long term goals. I learned how to use the S.M.A.R.T. goal planning technique. I learned that using a series of short term goals helps me to achieve my long term goal. This works for me because if I can see progress and it is easier for me to stay on track and achieve the long term goal. So many times I have set myself a goal and never accomplished it because I could not see the progress and lost interest. There were a lot of other units that will come in use during the rest of my tenure here at Kaplan University, everything from critical thinking and research to scheduling and conducting an interview. I loved the exercises that…

Soldiers must be and act responsibly in every situation they may find themselves in, whether it’s in or out of uniform. Responsibility increases when soldiers believe that they have personal control over their mission performance, performing out of desire to do well instead of just following orders. There have been many studies that have suggested that when a Soldier feels that they have personal control over work performance the result is that the Soldier has a better task performance, better problem solving, and a higher persistence in accomplishing the task, more positive emotions and even better psychological and physical health. Responsibility and accountability are two of the main factors in being a successful Soldier in today’s U.S. Army. You must be a responsible soldier if you want to make it through deployment alive. Or even worse, if you fail to be responsible you could…

Sometimes, I overthink without even noticing it. It could be the smallest thing, but somehow I start having different scenarios about what might happen in the situation. This is something I need to improve so that things can smooth out. Another area I need to improve in is avoiding distractions. It would start at my house where my mom asks for a favor. I tell her that I’m about to do it, but I get on my phone to watch vine videos. It turns out that I’ve been on it for 20 minutes which means I haven’t done the favor my mom asked for. I want to become better at doing things the first time around. My last area to grow in is to plan things ahead. When I’m with my friends, they try to go with the flow. Most of the time that it happens, we don’t get as far as we want to at the end of the day. So, I want to suggest to plan out what to do throughout the day because if the plan changes, we have a second plan which means we’re using our time wisely.…

Responsibility plays a big part in having good time management. If you’re not responsible then it doesn’t mean anything. I have learned to be responsible and keep up my school work. At times it can get hard to always put it first, but to succeed it is what I must do. I’ve found that the best and easiest way is to not put it off, to get it done as soon as I can. This way I don’t have to worry about it when I need to do something else. To be responsible you must have determination.…

ii. Be on the lookout for fragmented thinking, thinking that leaps about with no logical connections. Start noticing when you or others fail to stay focused on what is relevant. Focus on finding what will aid you in truly solving a problem. When someone brings up a point (however true) that doesn’t seem pertinent to the issue at hand, ask, “How is what you are saying relevant to the issue?” When you are working through a problem, make sure you stay focused on what…
