In addition to apologetics and evangelization, areas of particular areas of concern in working with this couple in marriage preparation may include helping them understand both what it means for marriage as being “a partnership of the whole of life” ordered to “the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of children” as described Canon 1055 and unity and indissolubility as essential properties of marriage as detailed in Canon 1056. This understanding is essential in light of Canon 1101 §1: “The internal consent of the mind is presumed to conform to the words and signs used in celebrating the marriage.” Canon law uses the word “personal” in Canon 1063 §2: “personal preparation to enter marriage.” The New Commentary on the Code…

There was a time when one out of a human marriage’s used to end in a divorce. “ A divorce is like and ampulation: you survive it, but there’s less of you” by Margaret Atwood. It is a legal action between married people to terminate their marriage relationship. It can also be defined as the dissolution of marriage. In my opinion, for almost all people it is very hard to deal with this kind of situation. No one enters a marriage life believing that some day it will end up in divorce but due to their habits, feelings, misunderstandings most of the marriages are ending up. The divorce rates have increased since the Divorce laws has been introduced in 1968, 20% of all divorces in Canada are a repeat divorce for atleast one of the spouses. With that, the divorce rate for first marriages is lower than the divorce rate for all other marriages. There were 27,577 divorces in Ontario in 2001 and the statistics showed that the number of marriages are declining and the number of the families living in common- relationships are increasing, although these relationships also lead to marriage but are short lived.…

Marriage is always automatically related to the possibility of annulment, but with the creation of covenant marriage its main purpose is strengthen the institution of marriage by making it much harder for couples to obtain a divorce. (Spaht, p.74, 1998). Research by Spaht clarifies that by preserving a marriage it not only benefits the two spouses, but also the children involved. Legislation laws have also been enforced for couples that choose a covenant marriage which include: mandatory pre-martial counseling, a legal binding agreement, and terminating the divorce based upon misconduct by a spouse (Spaht, p.75, 1998). By devoting a serious effort these three mechanisms have established a solid foundation for the overall purpose of preserving a covenant marriage.…

Both are options are flawed. In legal separations, everything but the marriage is dissolved. Quite literally, the couple remains married only on paper. Pastor Price- We are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Jennifer Anastasia Julia Littleton and Rodney Stewart Sterry II in holy matrimony. This rite of marriage in which you now come to be united is the first and most blessed tradition of mankind. A union setting forth such an ideal is not to be entered into hastily or without due consideration, but reverently, discretely, advisedly and in the sight of God. I require and charge you both that the vows you take this day are sacred above words, and that your lives hereafter shall be bound together unbreakably. For the security of your marriage will not rest in the rite or ritual of any Church, nor in the words of any pastor or priest. The security of your marriage will lie in the true character of your soul, in the steadfastness of your devotion, and in the love you posses in your heart.…
