As time passes by, fathers are getting more involved in the development of their children. Before, they were only considered as the breadwinner and the disciplinarian but now they are also involved in raising their children. Women have a big impact in the evolution of the role of fathers in the child development. Fathers and mothers nurture in different ways. Children whose fathers are actively involved with them from birth are more likely to be emotionally secure, confident in exploring their surroundings, have better social connections with peers as they grow older, are less likely to get in trouble at home and at school, and are less likely to use drugs and alcohol. The way that fathers play with their children can be important as well. Father-child bonding is especially important to young girls. It is because it is a crucial ingredient in the development of a young woman's self-esteem. Fathers also suffer from less stress when they play with their children.

My father is one of the most influential people in in my life, from infant to toddler to tween to teen. He has taken care of me since I was born and not only did he took care of me but he also loved me, protected me and has helped me in everything I had needed. He is also a teacher, a guide, and a source of strength and support. He is whom I look up to with loving trust and pride. My father also influences the way I approach life. I have gained not only knowledge, but have applied his teachings to my life. Because of the example he has set for me, my father has provided the steppingstone I need to achieve my goals so that I can lead a happy and successful life. He gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person; he believed in me. I wouldn’t be who I am right now if my father didn’t have any involvement in raising me
