Federation Square is a central public space situated in middle of the CBD. The Yarra river runs along and passes the southern edge of fed square. Fed square is inside of Swanston and Flinders Street and stops it’s coverage at Russell street. Fed square is next to the main interlocking circle of the Melbourne train system; Flinders street. Getting to Federation square isn’t hard, from any part of the city there is always directory. From Melbourne Central you can catch the train to flinders street station and walk out; federation square will be north (looking with same direction as train tracks. From Chinatown You can catch a tram that heads south (heading to the manchester unity building) along Swanston Street, there is a tram stop right next to federation square.
