Halloween the movie is mostly recognized by the main character Michael Myers however, the video critique was praised not for the main character but for the woman who was supposed to be the victim that turned out to be a hero. The clip shows the woman first comforting her kids and then protecting herself in an intuitive way. Through this depiction the critics then establish the connection in which they describe women as “independent, intelligent, spunky, and interesting people” as opposed to the stereotypical role of shallow, needy, sexual objects we are used to seeing.
