Fennec foxes are nocturnal. They hunt by night with a coat camouflaged to the desert. This coat also helps the Fennec fox hide from its predators, the Saluki, caracals, eagle owls, jackals, and striped hyenas. It also has big ears, which gives it the
record of “the largest ears of any carnivore in proportion to its head”. These ears help it keep these foxes cool.
Baby Fennec foxes are called “kits”. They can survive on their own after 60-70 days. These foxes are warm blooded and vertebrae. They are also mammals. They can also purr like cats. Fennec foxes are also omnivores. They are also of the genus Vulpes.
