The family-centered intervention approach (FGC)involves bringing together the child, the members of the family, and the child protection professionals to help sort out the issues in the family. The FGC model empowers families to be part of the decisions that have an impact on them. What’s more, the model is based on the assumptions that families have enough competence to make their own decisions if they are appropriately engaged and prepared as well as provided with the necessary information. Additionally, it argues that the decisions made by families are likely to succeed than the ones imposed on them by outsiders(Huntsman, 2006). Thus, family empowerment is the central aim of the FGC model and shifting the power of decision making to the family allows them to resolve their issues
