Romeo and Juliet is a Shakespearean tragedy that parodies the errors in human existence. The play is set in 13th century Italy in Verona and Mantua. Much of the play takes place in the home of Juliet, a Capulet. The time old feud between the families of Capulet and the Montague is what gets the story going and is the object that forces Romeo and Juliet to meet in secret. Shakespeare uses imagery to express the true feelings and impact that Death has on many of the characters and those around them.When Juliet dies her father, Lord Capulet, and her mother, Lady Capulet, are distraught. They both talk describing her deathbed and the world around her. In mourning Lord Capulet says, “Death lies on her like an untimely frost upon the sweetest flower of all the field” Capulet(Act 4, Scene 5, Lines 33-34). Later on in the play, Paris goes to Juliet’s grave with Frair Lawrance to pay his respects and when Frair Lawrance asks him if they will be alone and Paris responds, “Holding thy ear close to the hollow ground.
