They just do such a good job of presenting it. The way they cut in on the runners facial expressions inspires so much empathy for her situation, especially in girls that have been fallowed before. Then the mysteriousness of the man. I love/hate how you don't really see the psycho. You just see a slightly transparent silhouette which makes it even more unsettling. The way he makes no sound and their is no warning for his sudden appearances. You kind of get the feeling he isn't really a man at all. He reminds me of the torivors in the Beyonders book. Then I just love they way they work with the scenery. It probably would have been better if they had set it at a darker time of day but other than that it was great. The scariest place was probably the woods. I just love the way the trees obstruct the lighting and cast uneven shadows all over the place. Then the lighthouse is a very interesting element of the setting. It is an ideal watching aria and even before you go in they keep pointing to it with an increase in scary music. I was afraid of It even before we saw the man. Also the tightness of the stairs. I just kept thinking, “Its going to be hard to get away from their.” And the dirt road, this one is cool because its more open than the wooded path. You can see pretty far and the man doesn't seam to be any where. It seams like you are safe. Then you look again and he is just there. No warning, just bam with a burst of scary music. Then the music. O my goodness. It is spot on. I could rave about this even tho I hated it. It was so good and on point. Every action had music attached to it. Every time the man popped up their was a sudden increase in speed, volume, and intensity that just got your heart racing and made you jump. Then it calms down to just a little underlying doom and jumps right back up again making you jump even harder. It was just awesome and by far the best and most important part of the hole film.
