In the documentary of Food Inc one of the characters really got to me, he was doing what he thinks is right.
In the farm, they go pick people from Mexico to work for them. In ethical theory is Emotivism, he really trying to go around early in the morning when homeland security is out there hunting people tent, to depart them back to Mexico or where ever they come from. That is so emotional for others that do anything to come, to work here and making the company who they are today working hard, and the companies can’t defend them or provide them with working papers so they could stay in work to take care of their families in other
country.
The class discussions that we have in class are very much like the film that we watch in class, we watch couple YouTube videos about what we eat and we should all become a vegetarian the, the world would be better if we did, and less people would be living a healthy life. We saw a YouTube video where a guy is explaining to us that the meat we eat is not healthy for us, all kids are growing fast because of all the hormones that is being injected in the foods we all eat. In the film, it shows us that all the meat that we eat are being injected with hormones, therefore; they develop faster and grow big, without does hormones specially for the chickens that we eat we wouldn’t have that big of a breast. For both parts, what we saw in the Film and what we talk about in class combines, because before we saw the film we talk about the USDA is not doing their jobs on keeping us healthy and expecting the foods correctly. We saw in the film that it is true because if they would stop all that the farms are doing injecting does animals with hormones to provide more food America would be better.
In the film, there was a lot of companies that they were talking about, out of all the companies none of them wanted to be recorded, nor was cameras allowed in the working place. In the film, only one lady that wanted to be recorded, because she felt what she was doing was not good and it was not healthy for her, environment, and the chickens. She made in ethic choice by letting the cameras in the farm to show where the chicken is living, and what get them so big, she showed us that a lot of chicken dies before making it out, the chickens dies because of the hormones that their injected with, and they feet are so small that they can’t carry their body weight and just lay there and dies. The Farm is not healthy for the workers because its stinks, chickens are dying and by the time they get to the dead chicken its old and have a bad smell. Her choice cause he too loose her farm but she didn’t really care, she knew her consequences of wanted to record what happens and what goes in the farm. But she still went with it. Her farm got shut down.
In the text from the book on genetic engineering’s I came across Jonathan Glover which is a British philosopher, he recognized how dangerous is for our children, and “he wants to suggest of government regulation at the “genetic supermarket” where parents are able to choose certain traits of their children”. Now kids grow faster in the United State then other kids that are living outside of the United State that eat food growing from their back yard. The USDA are supposed to protect us but really there are killing us. I’m pretty sure the USDA know that in the meat manufactures and everywhere that provides us with what we eat Injects the animal’s and also the foods that we eat.
