Young Canadians Making A Difference
The article I have selected to analyze for this culminating activity can be found here: http://www.yorkregion.com/news-story/1435963-not-too-young-to-make-difference/ 1. The individual involved in this article is a 10-year-old Newmarket resident, Madison McBride.
2. Madison has organized many fundraising events in which raised money is donated to charities. Some events include holding garage sales and opening lemonade stands where raised money were donated to organizations such as Canadian Lung Association. Recently, she has organized a Walk for our Future for youth where thousands of raised money have been donated for breast cancer research.
3. Madison has been very successful with her fundraising events and continues to be. Any amount of money raised is a form of success because that money is very useful when donated to certain organizations or charities. She has event made an impact on her school staff and students. They have held a lasagna luncheon and bake sale and raised up to a total of $500 for Madison’s Walk for the Future cause. She was also invited to speak about her cause at various schools in her region.
4. Although everything we do involves some sort of obstacle, I believe Madison has overcome what many would view to be her greatest obstacle: age.
