Marketing Plan: Acai-A-Vie Soft Drink
Nancy Katz
October 28, 2010
Week 6

Marketing Plan Acai-A-Vie soft drink is an organic berry fruit juice made into a soft drink. It is full of antioxidants and contains not only an exclusive blend of the powerful acai berry, but also contains nineteen other nutritious fruits. Each of these fruits provides the body with the antioxidants to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Whole Foods Market is a specialty organic health food store located all over the country as well as in Canada and in the United Kingdom. This paper will introduce, offer and launch the Acai-A-Vie soft drink to Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods Market is planning to reposition the product and make it available in their store shelves and possibly in the future expand the product to other countries as well.
The situation analysis for Acai-A-Vie soft drink is that Acai-Blend Juice’s strongest competition is presented by large discount/membership stores; Costco and Sam’s Club. According to their websites, they are selling drinks that claim to be produced from up to ninety percent of the Acai fruit such as the Braz A Vie distributed by Costco or Frut A Vie that can be found at either Costco or Sam’s Club for approximately seventeen dollars for a twenty-five ounce bottle (Costco, 2010), (SamsClub, 2010). Another competition that is present is the internet. With the advances in technology, consumers are now able to shop and compare prices online from different vendors. Costco and Sam’s Cub alone can destroy any possibilities for Acai-A-Vie soft drink’s success due to their reach through their member-based clientele and large quantity purchases. The use of technology is the next best option: the Internet where consumers can find bargain prices for equal or similar products. Any of these or a combination of them can ultimately be the worst competitor that Acai-A-Vie soft drink would face.
The strength is that it offers

When most people hear the words “fashion” or “trendy” the images or concepts that most readily come to mind usually are those of the clothing industry, but instead of a fad that you put on your body, what about a trend that has to do with something you put in? Fad diets are nothing new, and a new trend comes up as often as those in the clothing industry. With the average citizen becoming larger and less healthy, a quick and easy way to reverse bad habits has become more and more sought after than ever. More and more of the “quick fixes” are becoming more readily available, with obtaining the latest miracle food as simple as visiting a grocery store. With this comes the endless stream of strange (and sometimes harmful) foods, diets, and supplements to help consumers lose weight, gain weight, detox, supplement their diet, and much more. Many of these “remedies” are based only on pseudo-science and creative marketing, but among them can be found some products that can be beneficial when used properly. One recent trend that shows promise is pomegranate juice, which has been capitalized on by Los Angeles-based company POM Wonderful. It’s been claimed that the drink can provide anti-oxidants and other beneficial chemicals that people might not usually eat with their regular meals. Whether the pomegranate (or Punica granatum, its Latin name) can fill this tall order remains contested.…

Fruits include a diverse group of plant foods that differ greatly in their energy and nutrients content, and form an important component of the human diet. They are excellent sources of nutrients, specifically essential vitamins, minerals, fiber and complex carbohydrate and also add variety to the diet all of which are needed to support a healthy body and mind (Slavin and Lloyd 2012). According to the World Health Report (2002), low fruits and vegetable intake is estimated to cause about 31% of ischemic heart disease and 11% stroke worldwide. Overall it is estimated that up to 2.7 million lives could potentially be saved each year if the consumption of fruits and vegetables increases. Therefore, recommendations for a balanced diet must include the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables to minimize these diseases and live a healthy life.…
