A hero is distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility and strength usually in the faces of danger. An intense fire outbreak in this visual connotes danger, yet the drive to save lives surpasses his immediate danger. This is exemplary of a hero. Selfless in that he or she may have a family that they are leaving behind while undertaking these enormous task. They may be going through a divorce or death of a loved one yet they are patriotic, pushing ahead in order to make a difference in another’s life. Heroism in a firefighter should be applauded and not silenced.
However, it is crucial to discuss the various types of heroism associated with this visual, a firefighter. They are ones who insert themselves in situations that could lead to heroic activity and those who simply see themselves as taking risks as part of “doing their duty.” (Ambrose, 1993). However, it is arguably that they are firefighters who run for safety in the face of adversary because they lack passion in their line of duty thus attempting to dissuade the audiences that a vast number of our heroes, firefighters are simply working for a pay
