According to the BIll of Rights, we have freedom of religion or the freedom of no religion. The first amendment in the Bill of Rights states that the citizens of the United States have the right to freedom of religion, speech, press (print), assembly, and petition of the government. c Republicans. These were people who were strongly opposed to the United States Constitution. They wanted a strong state government instead of a strong central government. To them if the central government was too strong then it would threaten the people's liberties and right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.…
The constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land. It was created as a way of distributing power. The framers of the constitution feared the possibility of one person or group becoming too powerful. This is why the federal government was separated into three different branches these include; a legislature, a bicameral congress and the executive branch which is led by the president. The constitution is still an extremely important document and remains relevant to this day.…
“We the People of the United States…” These words are the start of the preamble to one of the most important documents in United States history. The U.S. constitution serves as a foundation to the U.S. way of life. It is clear that without this document the U.S. and its history would be completely different. The purpose of this article is to summarize the constitution’s 7 articles, the bill of rights, and to also inform you the reader of which amendment I think is the most important.…
The always extolled US Constitutional First Amendment right to free speech, and the exercise of it, is in truth penultimate to and contingent upon the right to revolution and rebellion as the ultimate and last resort and stand. For the right to free speech is nothing at all but an empty and servile rhetoric without the implied resolve to fight to the death for it in the last instance. Thus also the Second Amendment’s purpose is to provide the people with the ways and means to effect the intrinsic right to revolution/rebellion in guarding against abusive centralized power. As Jefferson stated, the Second Amendment is constructed for the purposes of the peoples’ “last resort, to protect themselves from tyranny in government.” – i.e., revolution.…
The 1st amendment gives us the freedom of speech. With that the people that degrade others for their distraught comments on our new elected president should remind their self we have a right to our opinions. If there are whole races and religions fearing for their lives, this should concern the people. As a nation, we should be smart enough not to repeat historical tragedies as such. The fear of prosecution for ones religion is what founded this country. Do not be flustered when you hear my generations voices. We have studied our history books and are determined to fix others mistakes. For all those who live for today and think this will not effect your life, wake up. We have a duty to our country as citizens to make this a country worth fighting…
“You weren’t born in a barn.” Scolded the mother. Growing up Mexican, we have to say hello to everybody and I mean everybody. Especially no vulgar language and to always respect yourself and others. In today’s society most of the morals I mentioned are lacking.…
Every day, millions of people log on and use social media. There has been much discussion about whether or not people should be prosecuted for mean things said on the Internet. Regulations on social media postings should not be implemented. Even though people assume criminally prosecuting others for hurtful statements or opinions is an intelligent and well thought out idea, it isn't because it squanders taxpayer resources, abuses and infringes upon our First Amendment rights, and creates a dearth of personal responsibility.…

“In the United States, due process refers to a set of established legal principles, derived from the Constitution, that seek to protect the rights of citizens.” Inga Johannsen was put in a situation in which she was discriminated invidiously. Citizens of the United States were treated unequally, ending in a very unfair result for Johannsen. The study that was found in Utopia was said to be too new to be fully evaluated, meaning, Inga should not have been fired until at least further evidence of this study was said to be accurate, if anything. If the situation was different, for example, Inga had just been hired by the school district; the results may not have been such discrimination towards her personally. However, being said that she has been working for four years and 364 days, the scenario is 100% unfair and self-discriminating.…
Because the First Amendment has such strong language, we begin with the presumption that speech is protected. Over the years, the courts have decided that a few other public interests — for example, national security, justice or personal safety — override freedom of speech. There are no simple rules for determining when speech should be limited, but there are some general tests that help.…
