Five Paragraph Essay: Short Story Unit
My essay will be about the challenges that young people may have to go through when growing up. The short story that im going to compare this with is going to be "War", "The Crystal Stars Have Just Begun to Shine", and "Sniper". The author of these stories are Timothy Findley, Martha Brooks and Liam O'Flaherty. The main points that i would be focusing on are the hardship of young person with a single parent, the loneliness young people have to go through because of a family member dying or leaving with the though of never coming back and mistakes young people make that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The first main point i will be talking about are the mistakes that young people make. These mistakes can leave a young person scarred for life. An example of this happening to a young person is at sniper. Even though we dont know how old he is im assuming hes a young adult. Around 18 to 20 because of how he reacted when he got shot and how scared he was from the other sniper on the roof across from him. Usually veteran soldier wont go crazy like the sniper. I can also tell he was young because when he killed the other sniper "He became bitten by remorse. The sweat stood out in beads on his forehead". That just shows how young and unexeriensed he his because he wanted to kill the other sniper so much that the lust of battle got to him. The mistake was him identifying the body. Because of his curiosity the sniper learned that the person he killed was his brother hence the probability of the sniper getting scarred for life.
The second main point I'll be discussing is the young person growing up in a family with a singe father or mother. There are some things a mother can and cannot teach to her son or dauther and a father vise verse. That young person can even get bullied because he or she doesn't have the right gender parent during a school event. That young
