I believe no one will deny that the current food system is totally inadequate. The American people have become so accustomed to eating pre-packaged, precooked food that to take a little extra time to prepare home-cooked, quality meals seems a waste of time and money. While this may save the consumer money in short run, in the end they pay the price with their health. At the same time the local growers are struggling to get by on the barest subsistence, not being able to compete with the huge multinational corporations.
If poeple find out a dead bug in the food that you bought from the store. What should we do for that situation? Fortunately, the U.S government thought about these conflicts and established several governmental agencies to protect Americans in food safety. These agencies are responsible for inspecting, labeling, marketing, and developing modern safety systems to test foods for diseases and bacteria. They also work with the local and state governmental agencies, farmers, and companies to ensure cleaner air, safer food, and pure water to protect the health and safety of Americans. The following agencies; Center for Disease Control (CDC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are the most significant federal agencies to help consumers make better choices in the products they buy. All of them have a particular role in food safety, and by working together they make the foods we buy safer for consumption.
Why people want to have lots of agencies to keep our food clean and safty, becasue we want to be healthy. Healthy means having or indicating good health in your body or mind. Being healthy means feeling good. Being healthy is one of the better
