I think the use of the word stealthily was a good choice of advanced language. Some interesting punctuation I saw was when the author said “There are not many people – and as it is desirable that a storyteller and a story-reader should establish a mutual understanding as soon as possible” I think the m-dash was a unique choice to use for punctuation. Personally if I wrote it I would have rewrote the sentence and used a comma. I think a lot of the personification can be linked to imagery, it says “ For the night-wind has a dismal trick of wandering round and round a building of that sort” the personification in this quote helps me imagine what the wind was like. In their cultural value they value religion greatly which has impacted the passage because the author said “ many people who would care to sleep in a church”. Which I was lead to believe that it meant that people in these days are getting too lazy they need to rethink their priorities; which in their culture is believed to be
