Titania and Oberon had parental affection towards a changeling child who was orphaned due to his mother’s demise. As parents sometimes do, Titania and Oberon differed on how to raise the child. As a result, feeling like his opinion and authority was taken for granted, Oberon devised a plan to temporarily silence Titania so that he could raise the boy in the way that he so desired. Although this is the extreme of parental love, it is not so uncommon to see parents go to such lengths to ensure a prosperous future for their offsprings.
