I have been exploring into the world of genetic fingerprinting and how potential suspects can be identified in an investigation. I am currently studying a BTEC Extended diploma is Science, from the practical side of my course I have attained many analytical skills .I understand that forensic biology isn’t just lab based work, it demands self-determination and investigation of real scenes of crime, and if necessary courtroom presentation. For me to be a part of these events will be extremely satisfying, offering me the rare chance to make a contribution to the justice process, while finding evidence which can turn the tide in a4 case, when other items are not present …show more content…

I have read Essential Forensic Biology by Alan Gunn, which was precise and thorough but very enjoyable and gave me a very good insight of the complexity of the discipline. My aspiration after completing my degree and graduating is to become part of a forensic field team and hopefully start to fully experience the world of forensics , furthermore I would like to complete a Master’s and practice in a particular field of the science., though currently every form interests me –the discipline, the analysis and the

I have a number of hobbies outside school. I love to swim and participate in tennis games, both are very enjoyable and a break from my education. I also play snooker in a league for a local library. I enjoy using computers as a hobby and also as a way to expand my knowledge, I can analyse and summarise a wide range of information saved in different formats and convert into detailed and accurate rewritten documents. I also possess a wide range of information and research sources can use a variety of programs which require spreadsheet, Microsoft word, databases in excel, Microsoft publisher. I have a great working knowledge of software packages such as Sony Vegas Pro, After FX, and Photoshop and I also have good excellent on computers and can always work around technical problems when they appear
I have had several experiences in work in my past, the one me I feel was most beneficial to me was when I was rewarded the role of shadowing a Social Media Coordinator, throughout the time I was with the BBC I continuously developed good interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, the important skill to remain calm, organized and focused under pressure, with great attention to detail
At present, I am channelling my efforts into getting the best grades in my BTEC Extended Diploma which will allow me to get to the next stage in my education. I know that university life will be very challenging, but I know it will reward me with the greatest chance to achieve my inner potential, and lead the way forward to a successful career. I believe that University is the best option for people hoping to get the most out of a career in forensic, and those that wish to have the most skilled jobs.
