My work will provide impartial scientific evidence for use in courts of law to support the prosecution or defense in criminal and in some cases, civil investigations. I will be primarily responsible for searching and examining contact trace material such as blood, body fluids, hairs, fibers from clothing, ect. My career will also hold me responsible for justifying my findings while under cross-examination in the court of law, making me vital to the criminal justice process. Conditions of my work environment before the forensic laboratory will vary, due to different types of crime scenes or accidents that I will be expected to attend. Service Orientation is one of many skills I would need in order to succeed in my career. Being able to actively look for ways to help people will not only make me a better person, but it will also benefit my work environment. Critical thinking, Quality Control Analysis, judgment and decision Making are also major skills I would need as a forensic scientist. My job consists of analyzing evidence accurately so conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance is very
