This paper will explain the insight of one of the most popular scenes from the highly acclaimed film, Forrest Gump. The scene was titled, “Run, Forrest, Run!” and the famous quote, “Run, Forrest, Run!” also came from this scene. The plot of the scene is that Forrest & Jenny just met and were quickly became friends. Around this time, Forrest had just begun schooling and he has a pair of corrective braces on his legs. Toward the end of the scene, he and Jenny were getting chased by some of their peers. It was at this point when Jenny said the famous words, “Run, Forrest, Run!” Forrest started to run and his braces fell off too. All of the elements of this scene fell in just perfectly to add on to the movie’s initial mood.
Run, Forrest, Run!
This mise-en-scene has many factors into one. For example, the actors who were playing in this particular scene fit right in with the plot, because it was during Forrest’s youth. Another important fact I should point out was that the director done a terrific job in using special effects to add more emotion into this scene, most specifically, triumph. The scene’s initial mood began as relaxed because the two main characters were just enjoying each other’s company and were just having a good time. The mood then changed to victory because Forrest did not need the corrective braces on his legs anymore. I should also point out that the setting fits in quite well. Costuming and make-up played a critical role in the scene as well, because it showed the viewer the fashion scene during that time, which was the 1950s and 1960s.

The main actors in this particular scene were Michael Conner Humphreys, who played as Young Forrest Gump and Hanna Hall, who played as Young Jenny Curran. They did an excellent job in playing their roles to their full potential. In doing so, they were nominated for numerous awards. The director of the film was Robert Zemeckis.
