Four Factors That Contribute To Microevolution
Microevolution and Macroevolution Microevolution is a inherited change in a population within the same species but this does not result in a new species. There are four factors that contribute to microevolution: mutation, gene flow, genetic drift, and natural selection. A mutation is generally a random change in the DNA. So for example, if a species of birds start developing shorter bills, then that is a genetic change. Gene flow is when a population migrates to a different area. The birds might want to eventually migrate to south, resulting the population of birds in north to be reduced. Therefore it’s undergoing genetic migration. Genetic drift is a change in the number of a population due to a random incident. If a disease was attacking

Natural selection is a process where the differential survival of reproduction of individuals in a population brought about the evolutionary change. In this process population adapts to their changing environment. there are other forces that can cause evolutionary changes in the genetic makeup of a population. Change is one of them. Most people believe traits and populations can evolve. Pesticide resistance in insects and antibiotic resistance in bacteria are evolutionary changes in biology populations that have been observed many times. Microevolution are changes that occurred within the biological population. The changes that result in the origin of a new species…

Evolution is basically the change in the heritable characteristic or traits in living organisms which are passed from one generation to another and gives rise to diversity at every stage of the organism’s biological organisation. The process of evolution was not well understood until 19th century when Charles Darwin proposed the scientific theory of natural selection as a driving tool in evolution. The process involved both the macroevolution in which organisms went through major evolutionary changes over a long period of time and acquired different traits from different parents or ancestries and the microevolution in which a group of organisms went through minimal changes with time but the traits they acquired were typically from the same ancestor.…

Microevolution is basically as evolution within a species. This happens with minute changes that do not create new species. Almost like a better improved species. Unlike microevolution, macroevolution creates hole new species all together. Experiments can only really test microevolution because of the time limit. If macroevolution is almost impossible observed because of the time it takes. New genes are not required for macroevolution as long as such evolution is limited to closely related species, an example would be lions and tigers. In this instance, the processes behind microevolution and macroevolution are the same and extending microevolution to explain macroevolution makes perfect sense.…
