Four Representations Of Fairies
Over the years fairies have changed their ways of being performed on social media as seen on television shows and movies. Fairies have changed in the way of their culture/ ethnicity as well in the way of their inclusive gender. The four different representations of the Fairies are Peterpan (Tinkerbell), Fairly Odd Parents, Cinderella (Kecia Lewis) play and Shrek 2 fairy godmother. All these four representations are similar and different to one another, they are all the same because they all have a will power and can change something with their power, different on how they are seen differently and they all use their power in a unique way.
To begin, fairies are the controllers of fate. Fairies could come from humans because humans have been related

Tinkerbell is known as the opposite role that she should act as she represents the opposite role of a woman's actions. Tinkerbell in the movie of Peterpan is a fairy and she is shown as the opposite of everything a fairy should be. According to Shelly Rakover, “As an archetype, Tinker Bell represents impulsive provocative femininity.” In other words, Rakover believes that Tinkerbell does and says things without actually thinking it through. Most women fairies in movies or shows think before they use their power to change something or wish of a desired person. Tinkerbell does all her magic in the instant she does not think about it, she just does it at the moment without having to question it. Rakover states, “Tinker Bell represents everything an English lady can only dream about (such as giving free rein to her id), and Wendy indeed fantasizes about being more “Tinkerbellish” and revealing to Peter her feelings for him.” Rakover point is that a woman’s dream is the ability Tinkerbell has in showing off her feelings towards peter pan. This is important because it shows how fairies have changed in this case Tinkerbell as the fairy shows affection towards peter pan. This is something new because most of the times in society women do not tell men they have feelings for them. As well with fairies in movies do not fall in love with other fairies. Also, the woman fairies won't tell the guy fairies or …show more content…
In this show, there are multiple fairies being shown the two particular fairies are Cosmo and Wanda they are a couple. This Show shows how fairies have changed due to the fact that there is a couple as fairies and later on have a kid of their own. These two fairies are representations on how fairies have evolved because in this case Cosmo is the guy and he is the one that gets pregnant instead of Wanda the girl. In real life Males do not get pregnant. It is important that they show that Cosmo the male fairy gets pregnant because this reveals that this show is fictional. Also, the fact that now there is a Male gender playing the role of a fairy. The fairies in the Fairly Odd Parents are nice and use their wands to do good wishes that their master Timmy asks for. Jon Negroni himself writes, “In the pilot, Cosmo and Wanda say they want to help Timmy by granting him wishes, and I still think it’s true. But the point is clearly to help Timmy understand that he doesn’t really need magic to solve his problems.” In making this comment, Negroni argues that Timmy just can not get rid of his problems by simply wishing them away, and this is where the fairly odd parents come into play because they try to explain to their master, Timmy, that problems are not something one can just wish away because by doing so, it will just create more problems. Negroni states, “The fairies are there to make sure Timmy

This can be seen as a push for feminism in the movie because it doesn’t focus on her being because she’s a girl. Also it changes how things are normally executed in fairytales. Some examples include Tiana rescuing Naveen, the princess also being changed into an animal, Prince Naveen being a playboy and they changing into a hard worker, and Mama Odie who says to think about your wishes and if that’s really what you want. These are probably introduced into the movie because Disney is looking to find a prompt that will make people watch and buy the movie. Viewers want to have a role model that will be a good example for small children and make them change themselves for the…

Jack Zipes, (2009) believes that the nature of the fairy tale has been taken and used by Western society to help 'communicate about social and psychic phenomena ' (p. 38). From its early and humble beginnings in oral tradition among peasants to its gathering appeal over the years until it finally became something so entrenched in society that companies such as Disney were taking tales and producing them for the masses. As society changed over the decades so too did the method of transferral of these tales, who they were told by and to and how. Zipes explains that fairy tales, much the same as other genres written these days for children were not originally written intended for the younger audience, (p. 26) although they were unlikely to have been excluded.…

Every little girl pretends to be a princess and prances around imagining a prince charming. Even when they grow up and become a woman, they're still waiting for that prince to come sweep them off their feet, so they can fall crazy in love and live happily ever after. This fantasy is much because of Walt Disney movies such as "Sleeping Beauty", "Snow White", "Cinderella", "Little Mermaid", and many others. These stories have been passed down for centuries and numerous versions exist today. There are many interpretations of the stories and their meanings that most people don't even recognize. Though the stories all seem different, some of them still have similar meanings. "Snow White" and "Sleeping Beauty" are two stories that have a common meaning.…

All her life, Rapunzel is locked away in a castle by a woman who she believes is her mother. Her “mother” is keeping her from the outside world, preventing Rapunzel from having any type of human relationship with anyone except for her. But, the relationship between two family members (or so Rapunzel thinks anyways), is very different than the relationship between a man and woman. Since she is locked in a tower with just this woman who has convinced her that she is her mother, Rapunzel is completely prevented from, not only seeing the outside world, but also is prevented from finding the true love between man and woman that God has set out for all of us to find.…

However, all who are deemed these qualities are the villainesses of the stories. When the beautiful damsel is placed in distress, it is always the ugly villainess who places her there. Thus, as stated by Grauerholz there becomes an “ association between beauty and goodness and then conversely between ugliness and evil..” (qtd. in Hanafy). When a villainess acts out against the heroine, as seen in the characters of Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty, and the Evil Queen in Snow White, they do not act from any intelligible source of anger but rather from jealousy (mostly stemming from beauty) and pure malice, therefore furthering the reader and/or listeners disdain of powerful women, and instead reinstating one’s compassion, and reliability for the distressed heroine. Furthering dissuading people from connecting with the powerful women of the fairytales are that they always are punished in the end. No fairy tale ends with the villainess winning, she always gets her compuence. However, not all female characters fit between the dichotomies of malicious and good. There are a select few characters, particularly the fairy godmothers and the dwarves of Snow White, whom are portrayed as not only genial, powerful, and wise, but also help guide the heroine on her journey to find her Prince. Without the Fairy…

Disney makes us all want to cheer for Cinderella, while showing us some of her flawed choices. One example would be that she disobeyed her stepmother’s orders to stay home, choosing to attend the ball instead. Secondly, Cinderella ignored her fairy god mother’s warning about midnight, losing track of time and nearly undoing all the magic in front of all the people at the royal ball. Lastly, the fairy godmother was a stranger to Cinderella who magically appeared right in front of her. Everybody knows not to talk to strangers!…

La Mancha, is a unique book of multiple dimensions. From the moment of its creation, it has amused readers, and its influence has vastly extended in literature throughout the world. Don Quixote is a county gentleman disillusioned by his reading of chivalric romances, who rides forth to defend the oppressed and to right wrongs. Cervantes presented the knight-errant so vividly that many languages have borrowed the name of the hero as the common term to designate a person inspired by magnificent and impractical ideals.…

“Is mathematics discovered or invented?” To commence with this essay, we must first understand a few key words used in this statement and question. ‘Mathematics’ is generally believed to be the body of knowledge centered on concepts such as quantity, structure, space, and change, and also the academic discipline that studies them. Whereas ‘discover’ and ‘invent’ means to find information, a place or an object, especially for the first time and to design or create something which has never been made before respectively. Therefore this question can be rephrased. The body of knowledge centered on concepts such as quantity, structure, space, and change is being found or created?…
