The dictionary defines brotherhood in two ways. The first is, the condition or quality of being a brother or brothers. The second is, all those engaged in a particular trade or profession or sharing a common interest or quality. These two definitions of brotherhood show the basic criteria of a brotherhood. The one thing the definition does not put into perspective is the deep brotherhood of the Rockhurst High School Swim & Dive team. The Rockhurst High School Swim & Dive team is a brotherhood. Kindergarden was one of my most favorite years. I had the nicest teacher, Mrs. Tocheck. She would always play games with us like hiding and seek in the dark. Kendrick and I would always hide together and Mrs. Tocheck would never find us until she said she gave up and we would come out of hiding. Every day we would have stations set up during free time. There would be a dollhouse, a painting area, and a toy area. I would always go and paint pumpkins in October and bring them home to decorate the house. One time Kendrick, Ethan, and I made a huge fish made out of about ten pages of…

It’s a bler, trying to look back on when I was a preschooler, so first grade was a mess. First grade is a life changer. Going to Tri-Point in Piper City not even for a full year. Tri-Point is a small old school just like ROWVA. I remember changing schools because my parents got a divorce. We moved to Peoria and lived there with my mom's parents. I got transferred to a Catholic school. Every Wednesday the whole place went to church right across the street. It was the worst thing ever sitting in the old creepy church listening the Father talk about only “God” knows what. My teacher's name was Mrs. Heartstick, no I did not make the name up. She grossed me out. He hands very dry and cracked, they looked like an old man's hands who had worked his whole…

I can remember that kindergarten was fun. I enjoyed story time the most. In our class we use to sit on the carpet in front of the class and my teacher would read us a story. We would also do exercise’s where my teacher would write words on the chalkboard and we would read them out loud. I enjoyed this exercise because I knew most of the words. Kindergarten was everything that my preschool teacher said it would be and I was happy.…

Sixth grade was a major transition. Eight classes, PE uniforms, more freedom - except recess - but who was I kidding, it was going to be great! I met so many new people, including this girl Rachel Carney. We became instant friends and started Confirmation at church together that fall. That’s when I met Maddie, Rachel’s twin sister. Despite my newfound friendships, I was sucked into petty middle…

6th grade came to an end and 7th grade came around next. 7th grade was the beginning of junior high school. Junior high school means a new school. And with my luck, none of my friends were at this new beginning of my life. Because my anxiety has grown since the beginning of 5th grade, I wasn’t excited on going to a new school to make new beginnings.…

My first reason, is that is it helps kids discover what they are good at or might like to try. For example, if a kid wants to be a doctor but doesn't know for sure and if middle school helped him he could have an easier time deciding. Also if a kid doesn't know what he wants to be middle school could help he/she find what they are good…

Fifth grade has been one of the best years of my life. I have amazing friends and teachers. When you need something there always there for you. I was scared of big people in the hallway and terrified of lockers and exams and also that teachers would sign in my yellow book thirty times a day. On first day I bought a bunch of thing for my locker. Lockers were cool at first but I always forgot my combination and never kept it clean. It was a lot of work because I had test to study for and homework to finish. When exams came along they got me stressed out. I told my parents that I was scared I was going to fail! On the first day of exams…

“Banana slug!” I could not stop singing the silly songs after I came back from my Science Camp. I laughed. I ran. I rolled on the soft ground. Trees towered over me. Rivers flew in front of me. Hiking in the woods, signing at camp fire. What great memories I had! But science camp is by no means the only great memories that I have for Argonaut. Yet, no doubt this past year, my 5th grade, has been one of my best years with Mrs. Kambish, who taught me a lot of everything, especially in Social Studies and Math - and these now are becoming to be my favorite subjects.…

So at Primary 4, I slogged my guts out to get my Science right. I also requested from my Science teacher to help me with my homework if I did not understand part of the topic or if the questions were really complicated. Soon, my grades were improving much quicker than I had expected, attaining a score of 95% for Science and having the satisfaction of thrashing my friends and the shower of praises from both my parents and teachers.…

I look forward to your class and hope to gain a lot of knowledge not only in the world of literature, but also work on many soft skills, mainly public speaking. The thing that I am most looking forward to this year is finishing out my last year of high school on a high note. That may be getting high grades in my classes or getting to know my friends or teachers even better. The thing that I am dreading the most is the actual end of high school. That end will in a way signify the end of my childhood and will also be the last time that I will meet many of the friends that I have made in high school.…
