So I’ll be explaining points on ghosts in photography, ghost sightings, and ouija boards.
Ghosts on Camera:
Different types of ghosts caught on film: “Mist” = explanation: mist, or fog, breath
“Orbs” scientific explanation: Fast moving insects, dust particles
“Ghost lights/Will-o-wisps” Explanation: swamp gas/methane, aurora, reflections, animals eyes in the dark.
“Shadows” Explanation: Camera strap in front of the lens,
“Apparitions” - Explanation: Double exposure, normal things far away that happen to look scary in the dark, film processing errors.

There are several explanations for why people see ghostly figures. for example, When Swiss scientists electrically stimulated an epileptic patient’s brain, things got really spooky. The patient reported a shadow person sitting behind her, copying her every move. When she sat up, it also sat up. When she bent forward and grabbed her knees, it reached around her body and held her. The doctors then told her to read a card, but the shadow person tried to take it out of her hand.
What happened was the scientists had stimulated the left temporoparietal junction, the part of the brain that defines the idea of self. By interfering with the area that helps us tell the difference between ourselves and others, the doctors screwed up the brain’s ability to understand its own body, thus leading to the creation of a copycat shadow person. Researchers are hoping this is the key to understanding why so many people, both schizophrenic and healthy, encounter shadow beings and other creatures like ghosts
Ghost” sightings may be caused by infrasound. This was discovered when Vic Tandy, a researcher, thought he saw a ghost by his desk. He later discovered theorized it was caused by infrasound, caused by his fan, that was the same resonant frequency as human eyeballs. Essentially, his eyeballs were vibrating and causing him to see things. Infrasound can also cause a feeling of “unease”, which would explain the feeling people

In 1979, when Frank D’Amico was staying in the mansion his wife experienced something rather bizarre. It was late in the night and she was preparing to climb into her bed when she saw what looked like a dark figure standing at the foot of her bed. It seemed to be coming straight towards her in a strange gliding motion. Panicking, she found the lamp on her bedside table and turned it on. As the light flickered, it illuminated all corners of the bedroom and there was nobody there. Whatever dark figure that had sent chills down her spine had vanished as suddenly as it had appeared.…

To clarify what's out there to be investigated, Southall begins the handbook in earnest by defining the terms, since ghosts, spirits and poltergeists are not interchangeable and represent quite different phenomena.Ghosts and apparitions are a kind a recording on the environment - a residual energy that can come from a person, animal or even an inanimate object. We can experience these lingering energies by sight, sound, smell and touch. Spirits are what people most often think of as "ghosts." A spirit is the "actual sentient presence, or soul, of an individual or individuals who have remained in the material world after his or her physical body has died." Southall continues by describing different types of spirits and the reasons they may have stayed behind.…

This experience has been one of the most outlandish and eerie that one could of imagined. Most things in life can be explained rationally and with little thought to the reason or logic behind them, however what I have experienced is quite the conflicting to what I would usually be inclined to think. There must be some type of phenomenon that makes one feel as though one has left the natural world. These occurrences leave no room for logic, rationalization or justification.…

The novel “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley is about a scientist called Victor Frankenstein. Dr. Frankenstein’s character portrays himself as a curious man that is driven by ambition and scientific curiosity to create a perfect human being. Dr. Frankenstein has many traits similar to humans; he is very dedicated, determined, passionate, selfish, and irresponsible. Dr. Frankenstein makes poor choices because he brings his human creation to life, and then he rejects it because it turns out to be something he was not expecting. When the monster is brought to life the doctor says “I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and the breathless horror and disgust had filled my heart" (Shelley 34). Dr. Frankenstein is very selfish because he flees and does not take full responsibility of his creation. When Dr. Frankenstein was in the process of shaping his creation his intentions were naïve. He did not imagine that when he brought his creation to life it would turn out to look evil. I would consider Dr. Frankenstein a coward because he was scared to death from his own creation. After he saw his creation he hid. The doctor said “I took refuge in the courtyard belonging to the house which I inhabited, where I remained during the rest of the night, walking up and down in the greatest agitation, listening attentively, catching and fearing each sound as if it were to announce the approach of the demoniacal corpse to which I had so miserably given life….” (Shelley 34). Dr. Frankenstein chose his path because he was self driven to create life on his own, when he succeeded his goal he abandoned his ambition since the results were horrific and not what he had predicted.…
