First, I want to make something clear. When I started my research on this topic I googled “birther movement definition.” Thinking in my mind that the first result would be from the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary. I was kind of close, the first result was from the Oxford Dictionary; however three or four results later I see a website called know your meme. I thought to myself, “how am I even suppose to prove this is legit.” From there on I decide I’m not even going to fight the inevitable. The birther argument is illegitimate, however, I wanted to answer a trickier question. Did Hillary Clinton start the birther movement? Republican nominee Donald Trump states in a tweet, “Just remember, the birther movement was started by Hillary Clinton in 2008. She was all in!”(Trump, Donald J) He did this in the response of Hilary’s tweet talking about Ben Carson's response to the question, “would it be okay to have a Muslim president?” Which he then on went to say, “ I would absolutely not agree with that.” (Todd, “Meet the Press Transcript”) Hillary's tweet stated, “Can a Muslim be President of the United States of America?
