Freedom Of Speech: An Argument Against Abortion

Free speech should not be limited because our country was built on freedom of speech. It’s what made segregation illegal, slavery abolished, and helped build our nation today. American was built on the constitutional right, being freedom of speech. The country would be chaotic if the right was taken away from us but there are circumstances where individuals go too far and overuse the right to freedom of speech. One can express what they have to say, but there is a certain way one should go out and express it. Tone of voice plays a role in how a person will react. Abortion has been a highly controversial topic. In my perspective, I do not believe anyone should have the right to kill an unborn fetus under any circumstances. It seems so wrong
and it hurts me personally, because I adore babies and children. Another individual who does not agree with my view of abortion would say that an abortion would be the best option of the mother of the child could not take care of the baby. Another person could also say that forced situations such as rape should allow a mother to abort their child. I would say that putting a child in a adoption home would be the best option. Someone would refute and say that adoption homes are very bad and kids do not get treated the way they should be. As the kids get older, they will have a slimmer chance of getting adopted, which would lead to a life of misery and sadness. Free speech should be limited on the topic when hateful and degrading words are thrown out into the air. It is hard to find a solid line to what is “clear and present danger” because individuals can interpret situations differently. For example, some people show present danger with weapons rather than words. Even if someone has a weapon, they could just have it for protection and not to harm anyone. Therefore, it is tricky to know whether danger is clear and possibly harmful.
