Choose to be Pro-Life One of the most controversial issues today is the topic of abortion. For many years people have been debating over whether abortions should be legal or not. There are two sides to this debate. Those who are pro-choice, do not think that a fetus is a living human being yet with a right to live. They believe it is entirely up to a woman to choose what she does with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). Those people who are pro-life argue otherwise. Which one a woman gets just depends on her stage of pregnancy and how big her baby is. The most common method is the Suction Aspiration (LifeSiteNews). It is used with-in the first twelve weeks of a pregnancy. The embryo is sucked from the womb as it is being cut up. Another method of abortion is the Dilation and Evacuation (LifeSiteNews). In this method a pair of forceps is inserted into the woman to dismember the baby. This method can be used up until a pregnancy is of eighteen weeks along. At eight weeks into a pregnancy, an embryo can squint, suck their thumb, swallow, and tumble (LifeSiteNews). That is only a few things that they can do. (ChaCha). Babies can also be aborted almost up until their birth. There is another method that is just even more disgusting than the others. It is called Partial Birth abortion (LifeSiteNews). The person giving the abortion will grab the baby by their legs with forceps and they are delivered, except for the head. The person will then jam scissors into the head and open them so the head will enlarge, for the brains to be suctioned out. The head will then be collapsed and the baby is removed completely (LifeSiteNews). There are a few other methods of abortion too, all of them being torturous to the baby. How can something so cruel and cold-hearted be legal in any way? Why do some people think that ending the innocent life of a baby is not equivalent to murder? A lot of the women who get this procedure done, do not think of the consequences that can come along with it.
People who choose to have abortions done, most of them probably do not know how it is done, or they just do not care due to their own selfishness and ignorance. There are different excuses that they use for having abortions. People who are pro-choice think that a person or mother has the right to do as she chooses with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). They believe that an embryo is not a human and has no rights of their own. Pro-choice campaigners argue that the surgical procedure is completely safe and harmless (Lowen). This is false. Choosing to have an abortion is putting a woman’s body at risk. A mother can have serious complications that can affect their health and their future pregnancies, if able to be pregnant again
(Lowen). Most of the mothers having abortions are young. They think that because they are too young to care for a child, the answer is to have an abortion (Lowen). They want to have fun still. They are afraid of being judged. They think they are not financially stable. Well even if this were the case, abortion is not their only decision. There is still the option of adoption (Lowen). Plenty of couples in America today are trying to adopt children, especially newborn babies. Not everyone really thinks of their options. Ending the life of your baby is not the answer. Pro-life campaigners fight for the rights of unborn babies. They believe that life begins at conception and an unborn baby is equal to any other human being. They believe that a baby in the womb has their rights too. If women want control over their bodies, then they should also choose to help prevent a pregnancy more carefully (Lowen). Abortion can cause a lot of psychological problems. Quite a few people end up regretting the decision they made and can suffer from depression. The laws over abortion are always changing due to different people with different opinions. I personally believe that abortion should be outlawed and stay that way. Why not be one of them people who stand up for these unborn angels? People who are pro-choice really need to question their beliefs. Aborting an innocent baby is in fact as illegal as killing any other human.
