teachers. To gain some perspective we interviewed Freshman Isabelle Quintana, and asked her about her own freshman experience.
We asked her what she imagined her freshman year being like before coming to Edison, and she replied, “I thought it was gonna be a little bit harder than middle school, obviously, a little bit more stressful. I thought the workload would be a bit harder, but that’s all.” And then she gave her thoughts about how it has actually gone so far: “I love …show more content…
it. The classes I chose really represent the person I am.
So it’s really easy for me to understand everything, and I have really good relationships with my teachers.” Clearly Isabelle has done a fantastic job choosing classes that reflect her and her interests, which is paramount to a great freshman year. Freshman year is also full of funny and enjoyable experiences as well. This is what Isabelle had to say about her favorite teacher, Ms Gingrich, “I have her for second period English, and she constantly puts people in her place, and it’s hilarious.” Isabelle is also a very intelligent and involved student as well, captaining the volleyball team, and planning to take IB Spanish when she is a sophomore. Lastly, she gave her thoughts about her amazing counselor, and other fantastic staff members,”I love my counselor to death, Mr. Z, cause he’s really easy to talk to you and really cares about his
students. All my teachers are very funny, and great to know and have a good relationship with, and most importantly, they’re just really good teachers. They make sure that you learn the material, and they’re good people.” Freshman year doesn’t turn out so amazing for everyone, but at the very least all of that shows that whether you’re cheering at pep rallies, scoring goals at the games, or just enjoying class, freshman year is full of fantastic experiences, for those who take them. And although freshman year can be intimidating, you don’t have to go it alone.
