Should the president have an unlimited number of terms that he/she can serve, or should they only be able to serve one six years term? I believe that the current system we have in place now is the best fit. I 100% agree with the 22nd amendment that was inspired by Thomas Jefferson because allowing the president the option of being in office for two terms is a comfortable number of years. I feel four years is plenty of time to accomplish different goals for the country. This also allows the president the ability to settle into their new position before having to think about the next election to come. Since the 22nd amendment states they can run for a second term, the president can run again and pursue goals in progress…

I have been active in the two Middle School awareness clubs, like Zero Tolerance, and the now defunct Cultural Awareness for Everyone (CAFÉ). In Zero Tolerance, we have collaborated each year to make a public service announcement that shows the middle school why bullying is very damaging to students and a school, and especially to such a tight-knit community such as this one. In CAFÉ, which unfortunately was only around when I was in 6th grade, we went to all of the advisories and gave presentations on topics such as the disadvantage of stereotypes, and why we shouldn't base things on stereotypes. A last thing that I bring to the Academy is my citizenship. I have been good at leadership all my life, and I think that I am someone that classmates feel that they could lean on, that they can count on me. I also can be a reliable source for information. I want to keep doing these things and add some service as I continue into the Upper…

It’s not a new issue in the US, but more recently, the motivation in public discourse to remove the Electoral College has been renewed. Supporters of its removal claim that it does not represent “We the People” because it does not elect presidents on the basis of most gained votes. On the other side, opposition of its removal maintains that it is a system created by the Founding Fathers that ensures stability in the election process because it prevents a non-majority president from being elected. Whatever the opinion, the Electoral College has been a mainstay of the election process since it was written into the US constitution in 1787 upon the compromise between the New Jersey and Virginia plans. But, many argue that it was created based on the issues and needs of 18th century America and that today’s modern society no longer needs it.…
