The novel that I chose to write my essay on is "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe", By Flannie Flagg.I chose to write my essay on this book because the author uses past events to help show how they have affected future scenarios. The message is that love is love. The author uses the plot to convey the message by having Idgie and Ruth both lose Buddy, who is Idgie's older brother and Ruth's lover. They both feel pain and remorse over Buddy's death but, in different ways, all at the same. Over time, Ruth and Idgie begin to love each other as sisters. So does Evelyn, a character that plays a different part in the book later in Idgie's life. Evelyn is a middle aged woman that comes to Idgie's nursing home to visit her own mother-in-law who has a dislike for her.
