Throughout this movie two specific people were highlighted and followed on their daily journey. The two men were natives to the same location allowing them to be friendly, yet were “from different tribes”, therefore not very similar or close. He thought of he job as a local stock market, due to the reliance on demand so the supply can continue. Along with his job, Joseph also focused a lot of his time and energy into his family. He explained that the sump gave him his entire livelihood since he had meet his wife there, furnished his house with materials from there, earns money from the goods there, as well as finding food to feed his family there. The movie showed Joseph's desire to work no matter what the situation, so he can provide for his family. They also showed how content he was with his daily life and still was optimistic and hopeful about the future.
One thing that really stood out to me during this movie was how this oil producing country was experiencing daily power outages. This was surprising, due to how large and self acclaimed prestigious Lagos is. Along with this fact, another theme was how adaptive and hard working the people living in both the city and dump are and have to be. All examples showed the resourcefulness and desire these people exude daily, which is inspiring considering the larger picture
