Thanksgiving Compare And Contrast
Throughout the year there are several holidays. Toward the end of the year, the public's favored holidays come around. Christmas and Thanksgiving, a time for everyone to gather and make memories, but some enjoy one more than the other. Thanksgiving is a more widely enjoyed holiday. Thanksgiving is admired for not being required to purchase gifts. The holiday brings people together to give thanks. Thanksgiving takes place during the fall season. There are numerous activities during this time, from pumpkin patches to jumping in leaf piles. Families are able to enjoy the outdoors with the cool weather. Children can go to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out their own pumpkins and ride the hayride.
Various events gather crowds together. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade takes place in downtown New York and has been around for 89 years. During the celebration, giant balloons and floats with famous characters and celebrities march down the street. People can watch the show live or on the television. For those who enjoy sports more, there are football games. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which then leads you into the Christmas season. The day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday. Millions rush to stores to buy Christmas gifts at a reduced price. Majority of the merchandise is on sale, however

Families fill the Christmas tree with ornaments, candy canes and tinsel. Decorating an evergreen fir tree has been a tradition for approximately a thousand years. Pagans used the branches to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, making them think of the spring to come. Majority of houses during the Christmas season are decorated with lights. Some families host Christmas light shows. They have millions of lights synchronized with music and have dancing Santas. The best way to enjoy decorating is with Christmas carols.
