Different types of friends
There is a saying that says ‘Life without friends is like the sky without sun’. Indeed, friends brighten our lives and make it easier. Thus, We all have friends, some of them have been in our lives for many years and others less, but have you ever noticed how every friend, each in his way, enhances our life? . in the article "All Kinds of Friends", Judith Viorst claims there are different kinds of friends who play different roles in our live: "convenience friends," "special-interest friends, cross-generational friends," and "close friends". I previously believed that all friends were the same, but after analyzing the friendships I’ve had since childhood until now, I came to realize that, indeed some of my friends fit into three of these categories.
. First there are the special interest friends. These people are your friends only because you share the same interest. I had a friend named .... who I got to know by sharing a tennis activity. We were friends without divulging our personal information. Sometimes I try to know a little bit about her so that we don’t have to always only talk about tennis, or get awkward silences. I have her phone number but I might not call her out of the blue ‘ just to say hi ‘. I still remember when I ran into her in the street, the conversations only last for a few minutes. I started with “HEY!! What are you doing here?” with a big grin,” and ended with a “okay, see you then!” And that’s about it. It’s the kind of friends who easily drift away from you once you start to lose contact.
The other category is ‘cross-generational friends’. According to viorst these are friends who have a wide age difference but are still able to connect in different arenas such as music and
