Once the insects become resistant to the pesticide the plants are easily attacked by the insects again. This can cause the farmers to lose money as they have to keep replanting these crops. Not only that but there would be limited crops as a result of insects, this will also cause the prices of certain crops to increase because farmers would be unable to plant enough crops to meet the requirements.
